AnVil Informatics Appoints Dr. Richard Gill as President and Chief Executive Officer

Lowell, MA - AnVil Informatics, Inc. has announced the appointment of Richard Gill, Ph.D., to President and Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO Howard Berke will remain as a Board Director and former President Michael McManus is now Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Gill will take the opportunity to represent AnVil for the first time at a speaking engagement at MASS Opportunities - A Biotechnology Investment Conference on Wednesday, October 31 in Boston, MA. AnVil has received funding from three leading venture capital firms: Seaflower Ventures, Mason Wells Biomedical Fund, and Applied Genomic Technology Capital Funds.

AnVil's cofounder, Howard Berke, said: "Richard embodies the skills and passion that will enable AnVil to become the leading in silico drug discovery company. His experience in the life sciences industry spans research, development, product management, business development, and general management."

Prior to joining AnVil, Dr. Gill served as President and CEO of ActiveCyte, Inc. ActiveCyte's services are designed to streamline the processes of marketing and licensing intellectual property within the global life sciences community.

Dr. Gill was also President and COO of Genome Therapeutics Corporation, a $500 million market cap public company and leader in commercialization of genomics-based drug discovery; Senior Vice President and General Manager of British Technology Group; and served in various research and development capacities during his nine-year tenure at Unilever.

Dr. Gill received his Ph.D. and B.Sc. degrees from Reading University in London.
