-- Jai Dev Dasgupta, Vice President, Products and Services,
comes to AnVil with 20 years of experience in theoretical biology,
software development and management. Before joining AnVil, Dr. Dasgupta
was Vice President of Technology Services at CyberMedica, Inc.,
and prior to that, Vice President of Professional Services at eCredit.com.
At CyberMedia, Inc. Dr. Dasgupta led a company effort to improve
its innovative e-commerce implementation practices. At eCredit he
spent several years participating in software development and project
management before starting a professional services group.
In addition to Dr. Dasgupta's business experience in the management
of software product implementation and the creation of innovative
software, he spent 15 years in academia, including 10 years at the
Harvard Medical School where he was a professor conducting independent
research on the human immune system. Dr. Dasgupta received his Ph.D.
in mathematical biology from Panjab University and his M.Sc. in
physics from Jiwaji University.
Katherine Webster, Vice President Sales, has over
twelve years of experience in sales management, business strategy
development, and e-commerce development in the life science industry.
Most recently, she was Commercial Account Manager handling key worldwide
pharmaceutical and biotech business for Celera Genomics, a division
of Applera Corp., which supplies data and tools for bioinformatics,
genomics, and proteomics to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology
industries.
Ms. Webster holds an Executive Certificate in Business Management
from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Chemistry from the
State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and
Forestry.
Louis Frisina, Business Advisory Member, has been
a consultant and held senior management positions in the biotechnology
and scientific industries for over 20 years. He has been involved
in the business development, sales and marketing, mergers and acquisitions
and funding of pharmaceutical, medical device and scientific information
companies worldwide.
Most recently, Mr. Frisina was Senior Vice President of TheScientificWorld,
an Internet-based scientific community and search engine company
for scientific information acquisition. From 1996 to 2000, he was
the CEO of Collagenesis, Inc., where he grew the Company from start-up
to over $10 MM in sales. From 1993 to 1996, he was the President
of Fisher Scientific Worldwide. Mr. Frisina also was President and
COO of GynoPharma Inc. Senior Vice President at Instrumentation
Laboratory; and held various senior management positions at Ares-Serono.
Mr. Frisina holds a BA, Summa cum laude from Dartmouth College
and an MBA from Harvard.
