James Sherbloom is President and founded Seaflower Ventures, Inc. in 1993. In
1984, Jim joined Genzyme Corp. as its first CFO and helped grow Genzyme into
one of the largest public biotech firms in the U.S. over the next five years. In
1989, Jim became Chairman and CEO of TSI Corp., a biotech startup. Over the
next four years, he raised a total of $56 million in five financings, growing TSI from
7 to 700 people and to $60 million in revenues. Jim is a founder of the Massachusetts
Biotechnology Council and a former director of the Industrial Biotechnology Association
(now BIO). He holds an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School and a BA
from Yale University.
