AnVil Informatics, Inc. Appoints Dr. Michael J. McManus as President and Chief Operating Officer

Lowell, MA — AnVil Informatics, Inc. has announced the appointment of Michael J. McManus, Ph.D., to President and Chief Operating Officer. Howard Berke will remain in the position of Chief Executive Officer and a Board Director.

AnVil's cofounder and CEO, Howard Berke commented: "Michael has over ten years of senior management experience with a commercial software and e-commerce company, and he has been involved in all aspects of CambridgeSoft's operations. He brings a comprehensive understanding of the software industry and organizational dynamics in the startup environment. Michael will help guide AnVil's product development and business direction and provide leadership in the upcoming growth of the company."

Prior to joining AnVil, Dr. McManus served in various capacities during his ten-year tenure with CambridgeSoft. His positions included Vice President of Marketing, Director of Research and Development and Director of Technical Support. Prior to CambridgeSoft, Dr. McManus was with Eastman Kodak Company, and US Government Army Material and Mechanics Research Center.

Dr. McManus received his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a B.S. from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. McManus is also the holder of three U.S. patents.
