David Stone
Investment Partner - AGTC Funds

Mr. Stone is a Founding Partner of AGTC Funds and a member of the Investment Committee. He is also an Advisor/Partner to NewcoGen Group. Previously, Mr. Stone was an independent biotechnology analyst and consultant with Liberty Tree Advisors, LLC. A veteran of Wall Street, he followed the biopharmaceutical industry for nearly ten years. Until January 1999, he was a Managing Director at Cowen & Company, now SG Cowen Securities Corporation, a leading investment bank focused on healthcare and high-technology companies. As head of Cowen's biotechnology team, he expanded the firm's active research coverage from ten companies to over 30 and built its roster of biotechnology investment banking clients from one to more than 25. Mr. Stone began his biotechnology career in 1983 at Genetics Institute, Inc. (now a division of American Home Products), where he spent six years as a project manager and communications director. This early industry experience gives him an insider's perspective on the unique opportunities and risks inherent in biotechnology research, product development and corporate strategy. He is a frequent speaker at industry and investor conferences. Mr. Stone earned his B.S. in Microbiology from Colorado State University in 1979 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1983.
